How to Deploy Water Rescue Thorw Bag

STEP 1: Secure the Carabiner to a Stable Anchor Point

・ Attach the carabiner to a non-movable, weight-bearing structure (e.g., boat railing, fixed post, rescue harness, or sturdy tree) to prevent slippage during rescue.

・ Double-check the locking mechanism—ensure the carabiner gate is fully closed and screwed tight (if applicable) to avoid accidental release.

・ If no anchor is available, a rescuer can act as the anchor by wrapping the rope around their torso and bracing firmly.

STEP 2: Aim & Throw with Controlled Force

・ Kneel for stability (if on a boat) and use an underhand toss to create a gentle arc, ensuring the bag lands 1–2 meters past the target to account for water drift.

・ Shout "GRAB THE ROPE!" as you throw to alert the victim. Avoid high-force overarm throws that may tangle the rope or risk injury.

・ In windy conditions, aim slightly upwind and use a weighted throw bag design to maintain trajectory.

STEP 3: Retrieve with Steady, Rhythmic Pulling

・ Crouch low and pull hand-over-hand to maintain balance, using your body weight for leverage. Avoid jerking motions that could destabilize the victim.

・ If resistance occurs, reposition to a better angle or enlist a second rescuer to assist.

・ Post-rescue, re-coil the rope neatly into the bag for rapid redeployment, ensuring no knots or tangles remain.
